Volunteering at Wake Med

Are you planning for Summer? Maybe you want to serve locally during Winter or Spring Break. Here are a few long term and short term service opportunities.

Goodwill Community Foundation: work outdoors or indoors, weekdays and weekends.

Volunteer Match is a great database for searching service opportunities. Contact the charity directly when you find an interesting position.

Health Care: Most local hospitals have youth volunteer programs, but you need to apply for these positions in January-March. Click on these links for volunteering:

Local Hunger: Get involved by growing urban gardens, gleaning, and sorting/delivering food:

• Inter-Faith Food Shuttle 
• Society of St. Andrew - get on email list to glean!
• Food Bank of Eastern and Central NC
• Meals on Wheels of Wake County - sign up to deliver food to homes

Other Opportunities: :

• Miracle League Baseball - be a buddy fall and spring games
• UNC - TV - Volunteer at the Festival (3x per year) or other jobs around the studio
