Club Leaders

We hope that the Club Bazaar went well for your club and that you are beginning to plan for the rest of the year.

The Community Service Board will help guide club leaders in the event planning and scheduling aspect of their clubs. Please see the Club Leaders Toolkit on our website for a general overview of our role in the club process.

There has been some confusion as to the scheduling of meetings. To clear things up, if a club leader wants to reserve a meeting time on the calendar, he or she must request a meeting time through the Community Service Board before they send out an email to their club or to the entire Upper School. This will prevent potential conflicts and ensure that your club will succeed. To request an meeting time, please fill out the Club Meeting Request Form. The CSB will respond to you and work with you to schedule your meeting. In addition, note that meetings during the lunch period are the 8-day rotational basis. For example, do not try and schedule a meeting on a Wednesday, instead schedule it for a Day 3.

Service-based clubs must get every service event approved by the Community Service Board, regardless of its size. For service events, please fill out the Direction section of the Event Request Form and email it to csb@ravenscroft.org. For bake sales, which must also be approved by CSB, use the Bake Sale Request Form. We will respond to your email and will invite you to our meetings on Day 3, where we will discuss your event and find the right time for it on the calendar. Thanks for your help as we work together to ensure the smooth scheduling and success of all of your wonderful clubs. If you have any questions, feel free to email csb@ravenscroft.org. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
The US Community Service Board

Fall Roundup September 26

Every fall, the entire Ravenscroft community comes together for our Fall Roundup. While younger students can enjoy the games, booths, and rides, Upper School students have a lot of fun working together to run these booths and games.

Students can sign up to work 1,2, or all 3 shifts. They can move from booth to booth, serving for multiple clubs and classes.

CSB member RuthAnne Winston is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Upper School. If you're a club leader or SGA class officer, email her (rwinston@ravenscroft.org) to let her know you'd like to get a booth for your club/class to fill out starting at the Club Bazaar on September 10th!

Our First Year and Looking Forward!

We feel like we have achieved many of the goals of the program in our introductory year.

We have streamlined the process of organizing a service event and have offered support and brainstorming for new events through mentoring.

We have started an Upper School Activities Calendar to avoid conflicts, and also the RavenToday.org website that is on your home screen and visited 200+ times a day to help everyone be aware of events. We think this will be a very important resource in the coming years with the schedule change.

If you’re passionate about service and committed to making an impact through leadership with the Community Service Board at Ravenscroft, complete this the application for the 2015-16 school year. Return it to Mr. Pruden in the History Hallway by May 1.

Each member has a role, and these roles include:
Mentor, Chairperson, Evaluator, Secretary/Treasurer, Webmaster and Social Media coordinator, Scheduling Coordinators to work with calendars for bake sales and other events, and Public Speakers
